Arccos Link Pro Review: new tech is a game changer

Arccos Sensors Link Pro Review
Every swing. Every hole. Every round. The Link Pro captures your story one shot at a time.

There are moments in golf when technology quietly takes a step forward and changes the way we play forever: the release of the next generation of Arccos sensors alongside the Link Pro, feels like one of those moments.

For years, Arccos sensors have been the clever little companions screwed into the ends of our grips, tracking every shot, distance and decision with quiet precision. They turned statistics into stories, numbers into insights, and in doing so, they made golfers around the world a little bit smarter. But they also tethered us — to our phones, to a clip on our belt, to the need to connect to the faint hum of technology when what we really wanted was to lose ourselves in the rhythm of the round.

But now the Arccos Link Pro is threatening to sever that final tie. It’s the evolution, on a personal level, I hoped would come — a device that sits silently in your pocket, captures every shot automatically, and lets you focus entirely on the game while still providing you with all the data we love and need.

What Are Arccos Sensors and How Do They Work?

For those new to the world of Arccos, the concept is beautifully simple. Each Arccos sensor attaches to the end of a club and contains a tiny accelerometer and microphone that detect impact. When you strike a shot, it communicates instantly with the Arccos app, marking the precise position using GPS and feeding it into a database of distances, tendencies and strokes-gained analytics.

Add Arccos Smart Grips and an AI-powered caddie that learns how far you hit each club, and you begin to understand why US Open champion, Matt Fitzpatrick and and European Ryder Cup data guru, Edoardo Molinari trust this system so implicitly.

But even brilliance can evolve. Until now, you still needed to clip a link onto your belt and tap to connect your sensors before shots. The Link Pro changes that completely.

WHAT IS THE Arccos Link Pro?

Cards on the table: we’re avid users of Arccos sensors, we’ve long appreciated the insights it provides. Having reviewed the original product when it was released, we have continued to use Arccos for the past couple of years, I’ve paired my Arccos sensors with the original Link device, which clipped to my belt so I could leave my phone in the bag. It worked well enough — but let’s be honest, it looked a bit naff. More than once, I found myself explaining to new playing partners what the little gizmo attached to my belt actually was.

Battery life was another niggle. I could squeeze two rounds out of it at best, but more than once it faded on the 17th because I’d forgotten to charge it — missing shots and data in the process. The Apple Watch offered a workaround, but some people don’t like to play with a watch on.

Those minor frustrations are no longer there with the launch of the Arccos Link Pro. It slides seamlessly into your pocket and can be instantly forgotten. And while you focus on your game, it captures every shot efficiently.

Arccos Sensors: how the Link Pro works

There are three reasons we really like the Link Pro and we’ll outline them below.

The Arccos Link Pro is roughly the size of a car key fob, and is  designed to go in your front pocket before you hit your first shot. Once it’s in there it can be forgotten. That, in itself, feels revolutionary. The old Link had to be clipped to your belt or the edge of your pocket, often catching the eye and sparking questions from playing partners.  When it comes to the Link Pro, you pop it in your pocket and it just works. There’s something enormously liberating about that. No dangling clips, no flashing LEDs, no fiddling before you hit. Just you, the club, and the shot.

Reason one: convenience.

That theme of refinement extends to the battery life, which has taken a giant leap forward. The new wireless charging case delivers up to 12 rounds of power on a single charge — a drastic improvement from the two rounds you might squeeze from the old Link on its best day. The case itself feels premium: compact yet satisfyingly weighty, with a soft-close lid that clicks shut like quality luggage. It slips neatly into most golf-bag pockets and becomes part of your routine — charge, play, repeat. The Link Pro’s dimensions are almost identical to its predecessor, but the on/off button has been moved to the side and reimagined as a sliding switch. It’s a small but meaningful tweak: a little fiddly at first, perhaps, but it eliminates any risk of accidentally powering the device on or off mid-round. Arccos has clearly listened to feedback.

Reason two: much better battery life.

The Arccos Link Pro — small enough to forget, smart enough to remember every shot

Then there’s shot detection, the heart of what makes Arccos such an extraordinary system. The pin-position marker feature carries over from the original Link, but the button is smaller, more tactile and now located on the side.

From my testing, it’s easily pressable even while the device is tucked inside your pocket — you feel the click, hear the faint confirmation tone, and move on. But the real progress lies in how accurately the Link Pro records shots. Thanks to its multi-directional microphone array and an upgraded GPS chip, every swing seems to be logged with greater precision. Putts and chips appear exactly where they should; misreads are almost non-existent. The technology has reached a point where it fades into the background entirely — you no longer think about whether it’s working, because it simply is.

It’s worth noting I was testing with a brand-new set of Gen4 Smart Sensors, which likely helped polish the experience even further. But together, the hardware and software feel in sync now — like the system has finally matured into what Arccos always promised it could be: effortless, invisible and utterly reliable.

Simple, sleek, and weather-resistant: a pocket companion built for golfers who love the game, not the gadgets.

Reason three: improved shot detection.

Arccos Sensors: Battery Life and Charging

If the previous Link occasionally felt like a gadget in need of babysitting, the Link Pro feels like a grown-up by comparison. Its wireless charging case powers it for up to 12 rounds on a single charge.

Drop the device into its case between rounds and it recharges automatically. LED indicators tell you when you’re ready to go. It’s a small detail, but one that speaks volumes about Arccos’ attention to detail and the modern golfer’s routine. No cables. No fiddling. Just charge, play, repeat.

Arccos Sensors: Design and Durability

Golf can be an unforgiving environment — damp mornings, sudden showers, pockets full of tees and divot tools. The Link Pro’s weather-resistant housing shrugs it all off. The matte finish resists fingerprints and scuffs, and the solid clip mechanism feels dependable. It’s the kind of engineering that invites confidence: premium, thoughtful, quietly robust.

ARCCOS LINK PRO REVIEW: OUR VERDICT

This latest product from Arccos, the Link Pro, unquestionably addresses all and any of the minor niggles golfers had with the original link product and provides truly distraction free shot tracking and a sleeker, more reliable experience. The Arccos Link Pro genuinely enhances both the visual and the playing experience, making the entire Arccos system even more appealing to golfers of every standard who want detailed performance data and a clear pathway to lower scores with the feedback that data provides and the story it tells you about your game.

And that’s where the magic really happens with Arccos:  when the data meets the app. Arccos’ analytics engine remains one of the most sophisticated in golf — a coach, strategist and motivator rolled into one. Each shot feeds into a strokes-gained model that compares your performance against millions of other rounds. You can track driving accuracy, approach proximity, short-game consistency and putting efficiency.

The AI Caddie suggests clubs and strategies based on real-world performance, adjusting dynamically for wind and elevation. The Link Pro ensures that every datapoint feeding that intelligence is more accurate than ever. The result? Smarter practice sessions, better course management and — inevitably — lower scores. Golf is a game of moments. The flush of a well-struck iron. The silence before a six-foot putt. The feeling that, for a few seconds, time stands still. Technology should never intrude on those moments — it should enhance them invisibly. And that’s precisely what the Arccos Link Pro achieves.

By combining the proven precision of Arccos sensors with new-generation hardware and intelligent design, it delivers the most seamless shot-tracking experience ever created. For years, Arccos has been the system we recommended to anyone serious about improving. Now, with Link Pro, it’s the system we recommend to anyone who simply loves the game.

Because the smartest technology is the kind you forget you’re even using.

Arccos Sensors and Link Pro: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does Arccos Golf work?

Arccos Golf uses small, lightweight sensors that attach to the ends of your clubs. Each time you hit a shot, they detect impact and send data via Bluetooth to the Arccos Golf app, which records shot locations using GPS. The result is a complete record of your round — distances, accuracy, and performance trends — without you having to lift a finger.

Is Arccos Sensors worth it?

For most golfers, absolutely. It’s not just a golf tracker — it’s a full analytics platform that highlights strengths, weaknesses, and clear ways to improve. Add in the Arccos Caddie feature, which uses AI to recommend clubs and strategy based on your real-world data, and the system becomes like having a tour-level coach and caddie in your pocket.

What is the Arccos Caddie?

The Arccos Caddie is an AI-powered virtual assistant built into the Arccos Golf app. It analyses millions of shots to provide real-time advice on which club to hit and where to aim. It even factors in wind speed, elevation, temperature, and past performance — a digital yardage book that gets smarter every round.

How accurate is Arcccos Sensors shot tracking?

With the Link Pro, accuracy has improved dramatically thanks to its upgraded GPS chip and multi-microphone setup. Shots are recorded with impressive precision, and missed strokes are almost non-existent — particularly when paired with the latest Gen4 Arccos sensors.

What is the Arccos Putter Sensor?

The Arccos Putter Sensor attaches to the top of your putter grip and tracks every stroke on the greens. It records make percentages, distance control, and tendencies under pressure — providing invaluable feedback on an area of the game most golfers rarely quantify.

What about Arccos Sensors Golf Grips?

If you prefer a cleaner setup, Arccos Smart Grips integrate the sensor directly into the grip itself. They feel identical to premium grips, require no screw-in hardware, and offer the same seamless data collection. Many players mix Smart Grips with traditional sensors across their set.

Does Arccos work with Apple Watch?

Yes — the Arccos Apple Watch app is one of the best integrations in golf technology. It allows you to view distances, select clubs, and mark pin positions straight from your wrist. For players who don’t use the Link Pro, it’s an excellent alternative for on-course shot detection.

How much do Arccos Golf Sensors cost?

The short answer is that it depends what you are buying. There are a range of products on the Arccos website to cater for a range of golfers.  Ongoing access to the Arccos Golf Dashboard, analytics, and Caddie features is maintained through an annual Arccos Golf subscription.

What is included in the Arccos Golf subscription?

Your subscription gives you unlimited access to the full Arccos Golf Dashboard, the Caddie AI platform, strokes-gained analytics, and cloud-based performance history. It also ensures your data syncs seamlessly across the Arccos Golf app, Apple Watch, and web interface.

What is the Arccos Golf Dashboard?

Think of it as your personal performance hub — an online dashboard that displays every round, every shot, and every trend. You can dive into stats by club, by hole, or by area of your game, seeing how your performance evolves over time.

Do Arccos Sensors track every shot automatically?

Yes. Once paired with either Arccos Smart Sensors or Smart Grips, and connected to the Link Pro or your phone, every shot is tracked automatically. There’s no manual tagging or pressing buttons mid-round — just play golf, and let the system do the rest.

Can Arccos Sensors help me improve?

Without question. By providing strokes-gained data comparable to what professionals use, Arccos Golf identifies where you’re losing shots — off the tee, approach, short game or putting. It turns every round into a feedback session and gives you a clear pathway to lower scores.
